Come for a cuppa with your MP

Residents of Glenrothes and Central Fife are being invited to call in for a cuppa with their local MP this summer.

During the parliamentary recess Glenrothes & Central Fife MP Peter Grant is holding a series of “Meet Your MP” events in local cafes to give constituents the chance to meet for an informal chat.

Peter said: “When Parliament is in session I have to spend most of my time in London so I don’t get as much time in the constituency as I would like. The summer recess is a great opportunity to get out and about, meeting local people and supporting local businesses. I’m using my summer surgery tour to get to some of our smaller communities but as well as the more traditional advice surgeries I’m inviting people just to pop into a local café for a less formal chat. It’s very important to me that I’m first and foremost a constituency MP and that I’m accessible to any of my constituents who wants to speak to me. Most of the venues are places I regularly visit for a coffee during my travels round the constituency and I’m very grateful that they’ve agreed to support this idea. If it proves successful I’d intend to make it a regular feature in my diary, possibly visiting some of the cafes we didn’t get round this time. I’d also be very interested in hearing from other café owners in the constituency who’d be interested in hosting similar events later in the year.”

Full details of dates and venues can be found by clicking on the Summer Surgery Tour tab above.
