MP’S SUPPORT FOR FIFE BUSINESS WEEK

Peter Grant, MP for Glenrothes and Central Fife, has been visiting businesses in his constituency to mark Fife Business Week. He has had an opportunity to meet and learn more about a range of local employers including James Donaldson & Sons, a timber manufacturer and distributor based in Glenrothes.

Fife Business Week, now in its eighth year, is aimed at supporting new and established businesses in Fife. Running from 6-10 November, it offers a range of seminars and workshops for local enterprises to attend for support and advice with running and progressing their businesses.

Commenting, Peter said:

“There are a wealth of businesses across my constituency supporting local employment and feeding our economy. The importance of sustaining these enterprises in Glenrothes and Central Fife cannot be underestimated. That’s why I am supporting Fife Business Week - to recognise the valuable contribution being made by local employers and to find out how I can best support them and represent them at Westminster in these uncertain economic times.

“My visit to James Donaldson & Sons was particularly insightful. This family business has been around for over 150 years and has grown to become a key employer not only in this area, but across the UK. Their recent investment in their brand new purpose built company headquarters in Glenrothes is clear evidence of their long term commitment to Fife. I would like to thank the team there for showing me around and making me feel so welcome during my visit, and I look forward to engaging with them on the issues we discussed moving forward.”

Andrew Donaldson – Director at James Donaldson and Sons said:

‘’It was fantastic to show Peter around our headquarters on Friday, and reaffirm our commitment to providing employment opportunities for the local community.

"James Donaldson & Sons Ltd are very proud of their history and heritage in the local area, which spans more than 150 years."
