Senior Communications Officer
Applications are invited for this post based at my constituency office in Glenrothes (currently offering hybrid working between home and constituency office in line with Covid-19 guidance).
You will be responsible for managing communications with local and national media and for maintaining and producing varied content for my website and social media accounts. You will be creative and seek ways to enhance my communications with constituents. You may also be required to manage your own portfolio of casework dependent on your experience and the needs of the office. Once Covid-19 guidance allows you may be asked to spend short periods of work at Westminster.
You will be educated to degree standard or equivalent and will have excellent interpersonal skills. You must be able to demonstrate high standards of integrity and political awareness alongside a record of high performance in all of the main duties of the post. A flexible approach to work is essential as the nature of the job means there may be a need for some evening and weekend working.
This is a part time post (0.6 full time equivalent) with flexibility around your working hours. The full-time equivalent salary will be in the region of £24k - £25k dependent on experience.
This post is subject to the conditions of employment for MPs’ staff as set by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority. Any offer of employment will be subject to security clearance by the parliamentary authorities.
