PETER GRANT MP WELCOMES CASH BOOST TO LOCAL ORGANISATIONS

Peter Grant MP has welcomed the news this week that two organisations in Glenrothes have recently been successful in securing a total of £546,510 National Lottery funding after applying to the National Lottery Community Fund Scotland.

YMCA Glenrothes received £171,275 to re-develop the back courts of the homeless accommodation in Alexander Road, Glenrothes into a Healthy Living Garden to benefit the residents of the accommodation, the residents of the female homeless accommodation in the South Parks area of Glenrothes, and the residents of the Our Place area in Fife.

In addition to YMCA Glenrothes’ success, St Luke’s Episcopal Church Glenrothes received a massive £375,235. This will allow the church to run a three-year long activity known as Peace ‘n’ Jam. The community will see the refurbishment of the non-worship space within the church to establish a community café and social hub. It is estimated that this benefit 500 individuals in the Auchmuty area over the next three years.

Commenting, Peter Grant MP said:

“This is an incredible amount of funding that has been received by two Glenrothes organisations and I would like to thank all involved for the work put in to securing this money. This will help well deserved groups within the constituency and is a clear recognition and investment in our communities.”
